TIME TO PRIME

G’day mate,

I remember when I first started wearing makeup I had no idea what I was doing. I barely moisturized, I didn’t prime and by the end of the day there was very little makeup left on my face.

Prepping the skin before makeup by toning, moisturizing and priming helps to create a protective barrier on the skin to stop breakouts from clogged pores and also allows the makeup to last longer.

So today I wanted to share with you all how I prep my skin before makeup.

Firstly I will wash my face with a gentle QV face wash and then tone with my Sunday Riley Martian Matifying Toner (100% recommend this toner).

Then I use my Clinique moisturizer, one of my all time favourite moisturizers.

Before putting on my makeup I prime using the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water which can also be used as a setting spray. I love this product its so easy to apply and is so handy when setting makeup.

I like to use a specific eye shadow primer because I have always had trouble with my eyeshadow creasing. I use the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and this will definitely appear in my next monthly favourites.

One of the easiest things to do to step up your makeup game is wear a primer and I can not stress this enough. If you are curious about my skin care routine you can read about it here.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

What are some of your favourite primers?

  1. I’ve been wanting to try out that Sunday Riley toner! I hear such good things. An amazing amazing mattifying primer that I’ve used is the Porefessional from Benefit. It’s a game changer
